Don't miss the Shuman Show on October 10th in Saint-Aubin-de-Médoc!

The Shuman Show, the words-and-music show that traces the life and work of legendary singer-songwriter Mort Shuman, returns on Saturday, October 10, at 8:30 p.m. at La Scène, a fantastic venue located in Saint-Aubin-de-Médoc. Don't miss it!

Throughout his remarkable career, New Yorker Mort Shuman composed some of the most famous melodies of the late 1950s and early 1960s, before becoming a pop star in France himself, with hit records such as 'Le Lac Majeur' and 'Papa-Tango-Charlie'. He also composed musicals, appeared in numerous films, and helped introduce Jacques Brel’s music to the English-speaking world. Shuman died in 1991, and... happens to be buried in Bordeaux.

A few years ago, after researching Mort Shuman’s story for the blog, the narrative took the form of a 75-minute show, the Shuman Show, which features live performances of the music Shuman wrote throughout his career, interspersed with anecdotes that not only tell the full story but also add additional layers of understanding to the songs themselves. Above all, the Shuman Show is a fun, feel-good night out!

For this performance in Saint-Aubin-de-Médoc, I’ll be joined by my musical partners from the band Slowrush: Olivier on bass and Dorian on percussion. The event is part of the town’s cultural season and will take place at the new performance venue, La Scène, with a few new features and surprises in store for what promises to be an exceptional evening. Be sure to come!

All that's missing from this lovely view is you!
